This is a good option when repairing small cosmetic improvements. Unlike veneers and crowns, bonding can be done in a dental office instead of a dental laboratory. The dental bonding does not require removing as much of the tooth’s enamel as other options. Since this option typically doesn’t last as long it is most often used for small cosmetic touch-up rather than major restorations.

How It’s Done

The bonding procedure typically requires between 30 to 60 minutes to complete for each tooth. First Dr. Sioutis determines exactly what color your teeth are to select a resin that will blend it naturally. Once this is done, the dentist will prepare the tooth so that the bonding material will adhere with ease. This involves roughening the surface of the affected tooth and applying a liquid conditioner. Once this is complete, Dr. Sioutis will apply the resin to the tooth, and cure it in place using an ultraviolet light. Finally, Dr. Sioutis will apply the finishing touches by shaping and polishing the resin for a good fit.
